What Great Leadership Looks Like in Difficult Times

Episode 128 - What Great Leadership Looks Like in Difficult Times, with Gary Ryan

Leadership and high-performance culture expert Gary Ryan highlights the critical differences between leaders who believe the people in their organization are human beings versus leaders who think they lead human resources.

About our guest Gary Ryan

Gary Ryan is the founder of Organisations That Matter, a boutique consulting firm in Melbourne, Australia. Gary works with organizations in a wide range of industries, including public transport, agriculture, building services, finance, banking, federal, state, and local government, universities, arboriculture, primary and secondary schools, professional sports, and individual leaders who desire to improve their lives and the lives of the people they serve.

In the mid-1990s, Gary was introduced to Servant Leadership and the theory and practice of Organisational Learning. These theories are constantly evolving and have spawned Authentic Leadership and Inclusive Leadership. The theoretical foundation of these bodies of knowledge has continued to influence Gary in everything he does. Most importantly, Gary believes in closing the gap between theory and practice, which is the space in which he has chosen to work. He focuses on leaders because they have the most significant influence on the culture within an organization. You can connect with Gary on LinkedIn or learn more about his book and organization.
